Happy HaPpY Birthday Girls!

So I know I've been absent from blogging and facebook lately, and I have a wonderful reason! I've been preparing for the girls' first birthday party! Rush was gone for 4 weeks up until the 17th so I was having to do ALL of the work and just during nap, Mother's Day Out, and after they went to bed at night. I'm not going to lie, I'm sure I put a lot of pressure on myself and picked out a lot of things to do myself for their party. (I'm blaming pinterest on this!) So I decided to do a pink, green, and dots themed party. I made banners, pinwheels, tissue paper flowers, a streamer "tent," a checkerboard cake (the box lied, it did NOT come out checkerboard), stuffed bunnies, two tutus, two painted onsies, a wreath, cookies, candies, mowed the yards (front & back) after pulling the weeds out and picking up Ruff's doo doo, planted the two flowerbeds by our new porch extension, planted a few pots, and mulched. WHEW! I'm getting tired again just thinking about all that work. But I would do it all again for my girls! And now that Rush is home hopefully I'll never have to try and plan and prepare a birthday party without his help. I know that he really wanted to be home for their birthday and to help me out, but when the government says "go" he has to go.

Anyways, I do believe it was a huge success and worth all the hard work! Everyone had fun, we had plenty of food, and no one got hurt (besides those of us who hit our head on the dining room light!) The girls loved all of the gifts they received and can't wait to play with them all. We've seperated gifts into different areas of the house so they don't get overwhelmed. They especially loved their cupcakes! Adalyn looked like she was trying to shove the whole thing in at once, Reagan wasn't so sure. She got scared when we blew out her candle (I was told they wouldn't reach for the candles, HA!) Well I know what you're thinking, you want to see pictures, I won't make you wait any longer...on a side note, now that I'm not up to my eyes with projects I will be catching up on my prior posts! Just figured y'all would want to see party pictures first. :)

Welcome to the party!
(I love how my wreath turned out!)
Finishing up last minute touches for the party!
Quite proud of how it turned out, thank you pinterest for many ideas!
Desert table. :) The cake was a whole issue in itself. Thank you Mom and Jess for saving it last minute!
Very pretty, you wouldn't know it from pictures but the top layer was trying to commit suicide by crumbling off the cake.
I made the girls their very own cupcakes. :)
 Uncle Jake and Reagan
The Wende Family!
Enjoying the party
Time to EAT! They take after Daddy, they love fruit and loved the brats!
Opening gifts! *Thank you everyone, they have had a blast this last week playing with all their new gifts!*
They got the hang of unwrapping very quickly!
 Reagan
 Adalyn
Sometimes the box is just as much fun as what's in it!

I LOVE this video! The girls start dancing with the music their new toy is playing.
Reagan
Adalyn
Addie loves the pinwheels I made for the party...
 With cousin Irelyn

Did you know pinwheels can be used as a weapon? Poppy found that out REAL quick!
HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY GIRLS! Mommy and Daddy love you very much! :)
They were quick! Thought I would be able to set them down without them reaching for the cupcake, boy was I wrong. They weren't too happy about us racing in to blow out the candles for them. LOL
Reagan isn't too sure about this...
You don't have to tell Addie twice, she dove in!
I think she tried to shove the whole cupcake in her mouth at once!
This is her cupcake comotose face :)
Reagan finally decided to dig in. They both ate their whole cupcake.
Remember when I said it was a checkerboard cake? Well this is how it turned out. I'm going to quite believing everything I see because it looks NOTHING like the box picture. BUT it did taste good and that is more important than looks when all is said and done. So all in all I'd say it was a success. :)

THANK YOU to all who were able to make it out to the girls' party, it means a lot that y'all took the time out to come and share in this special day with us (more me than the girls ;) ). I know many weren't able to make it but y'all were here in spirit, so thank you.

Now that I am done with getting this party ready I will hopefully have more time to catch up on posting! That and having Rush home should help. :)

10 & 11 Months! Post 3 of ?

I'm here again hoping to get more pictures up on the blog for everyone to enjoy. Again I didn't get them all posted, we're a few days shy of when they turned 11 months. But there are a LOT of pictures!

*I'm sorry it's been taking me so long, I've been doing a lot of random crafts for the girls' first birthday party during naps and at night, leaving less time for blogging! Oh and I've also become addicted to pinterest. Nothing to worry about, pinterest just helps me feed my crafting addiction. All in all, it's a downward spiral that I am LOVING! ;)

Anyways, enough chatting. Enjoy the pictures.

The girls love their outfits from cousin Christy and her gang! Thanks! (Mommy loves them too!)
Cousin Ethan playing with the girls (Reagan is doing pattycake), E is exactly 13 months older than the girls!
Proud Marine with his girls :)
Christmas Eve service in Somerset. The girls love the outfits Auntie Jessica picked up for them!
 MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I had to take a picture of my hard work. I made dozens upon dozens of these sugar cookies for Christmas, and I also love the cookie plate they are on (thank you Quinn!)
Well the girls' LOVE their table toy! Adalyn was supposed to be in the red sleeper too, but we had a blowout in the middle of the night.
I think the beer making kit I got for Rush was a hit as well!
"No girls, you have another 20 years before you can taste the beer Daddy made..."
We couldn't forget our third child, Ruff! He wouldn't sit still once we gave him that rawhide. It brought out the young pup in him. :)

A few days after Christmas we went up to Waco to have our Baskin Christmas, this is at Baylor's bear habitat.
Struggling to remember the names of the bears, but I do remember they were both female and quite fiesty with the gardner working on the weeds near their fence!

 Uncle Jake and Brenham!
Sadly, I didn't keep my camera out like I should have to take more pictures (or did it run out of battery.....I can't remember) either way I wish I had taken more pictures of everyone while we were in Waco. Also Reagan took her first steps while we were in Waco!

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I finally got a picture of Reagan doing her "headstand" except I was a few seconds slow and she picked her head up.
 "I love picnic-ing!"
Love this sly grin she likes to give :)
Oh Addie, such a sweet smile :)
I love this one! I'm sure she was "squealling" but it looks like she is going "OMGOSH I HAVE FEET!" LOL!
This is a normal setup. I sit down, they crowd. :)
(It's also why I've started sitting on the floor instead.)
 Such a sweetie!
Reagan about to bust out her dance moves!
"Didn't you know it's upside down day?"
But wait...there's more! It just continues to get bigger!
 Another growing spot...
I am quite proud of my frame, Mom suggested putting paper in some so that it's not overwhelming with pictures, and I am glad I went with black & white.

Well that's all for today, the girls are going to be waking up soon (it's been 2.5 hours!) and are going to be hungry hungry hippos! ;)
