So...it's been wayyy too long since I've blogged.

I don't know exactly how many people actually follow this but, I'm gonna keep trying to be a good blogger.

So Rush has been in Cali for the past 4 weeks helping out another unit with training. He's not too happy about it since he really doesn't have a job to keep him busy when they aren't firing "God's guns" which is quite a bit of down time for him. Mostly he's bored, he's already read the book he took with him, and he doesn't have one of those hi-tech phones that have all those games on them. He should be home in about 10 days, which I am so ready for. I feel like I just got him back from Afghanistan and now he is gone again.

It's hard to believe we've almost been married for a whole year! And MAY is going to be absolutely CRAZY for us this year...

But first we are going to celebrate our 1st Anniversary on Saturday May, 8th. I don't think we are going to plan anything big since the week after we'll be sunning in ourselves Oahu, Hawaii! While Rush has been gone, I've been doing a lot of work planning our honeymoon to Hawaii! Yep we went ahead and booked it and I've got an "itinerary" of what we are going to do and when. It's going to be so much fun, we are planning on scuba diving, horseback riding, sight seeing, sunrise hiking, (hopefully) sunset cruising, and tanning on the beach! YAY! Now if everyone could please pray that everything happens to where they STILL let Rush off to enjoy this. Gotta love the military.

Anyways, before we get to Hawaii, we are going to be flying in to Dallas to celebrate Bruce and Kerie's wedding! It's going to be crazy fun, and I can't wait to see Rush in a tux. ;) He's so handsome. We're so excited to be able to also make it to the rehearsal dinner on Friday night. And I know Rush is going to love being with all of his buddies. Also I am hoping that Garrett and Liesl make it to Waxahachie so that I can finally meet my newest nephew, Ethan!

Sunday morning after the wedding we fly out to Hawaii! We'll be flying back in on Friday but because of the time difference it will be Saturday morning in Texas. We'll have to land in DFW and then get a cab to Love Field so that we can catch a flight to San Antonio. Yes I know we are going to be tired, but we plan on having something to help us sleep on the plane ride.

Once in San Antonio someone is going to pick us up and we are going to attend my cousin Georgia's wedding! It'll be fun and I can't wait to see family. Then Sunday night we fly back home to North Carolina.

Too bad we aren't getting frequent flyer miles.

THEN if that's not enough, Monday on the 24th of May we are MOVING! Not far, but on base. I figure just ask off and sleep in then get moved by TMO (some guys will come in and pack all of our stuff and then drive it on base for us and then unpack the boxes and I think set up our furniture!) Rush and I both plan on asking off so that we can oversee the moving process and then buy them pizza for lunch so that they'll take great care of our stuff! At least I've heard that worked for others. :)

So in short May is going to be a very busy month for us, and I look forward to every second of it!

I haven't been a very good blogger lately...

Howdy Howdy!

I haven't been on top of my game lately with the whole blogging thing, but I do have a good excuse! Ever since Rush has gotten home, he seems to get all of my attention! Which he rightfully deserves. :) Anyways, here is what has been going on on our side of the nation...

Rush has started to have to go on field ops where he is gone for a few days at a time camping out somewhere on Camp Lejeune! He is actually gone right now (hence me getting a chance to blog!) And the sad thing is that it seems like every time he has to go out, it rains! Poor guys. Well the main reason they are going out, is to actually fire the artillery guns (Rush like to call them God's Guns!) As for word of another deployment, we haven't heard anything. I personally am crossing my fingers that he won't have to go back over to "Hell on Earth" anytime soon.

As for me, I've been training for the Marine Corp Marathon 10K since January and I am slowly coming around. I am glad I gave myself 10 months to prepare for this! But it gives me something to work towards and I'm excited about running it with Robin and Jessica. And anyone else that wants to sign up and run with us is very welcome! Registration is not until May...something to think about. I've also started working. After not having any success in finding a job here, I went to a temp agency that one of the other wives went through and had success with. They started me working at Jackson-Hewitt as one of two receptionist. It was okay but the hours weren't that great, and I had to work some weekends. But that is over now and I had an interview last week with a temp to hire position! Yay! Those are where I work for them under the temp agency for 400 hours and then the company can fully hire me on to their payroll. Then I can get raises and employee discounts. :) Tomorrow I go in for a few hours to shadow his current admin. assistant to make sure this is a good fit for me and to see if he wants to hire me or the girl that went in today to shadow. Say a prayer for me! :)

As for us still being newly weds we try to spend as much time as we can together. We love taking the dogs out to the dog beach on base. :) I haven't remembered to take the camera when we go, but one of these days I will remember. Anyways they LOVE being able to run along the beach chasing birds and running in the surf! We are working on Ruff coming back to us when we call him...he pretends he's deaf. I'm hoping that treats will fix his hearing. ;) We've also decided to apply for base housing. Don't get me wrong, I love the house I am in now, but we think we could SAVE so much more money living on base. So we are excited about that because I'll be near my friends and our commute will be much, much shorter.

So far that's all for now. We are just getting into a rhythm of living together and being the kind of spouse God would want us to be! We are loving it and each other!

Happy Birthday Ethan!

I've been pretty bad about updating lately, but I had to make sure that today was noted. Today Garrett and Liesl welcomed Ethan Garrett Moring into the world! He was born this morning (Jan. 12, 2010) at 10:30 weighing 7 lbs. and 13 ozs. and 20 inches long. I'll update with pictures if I can get my hands on some. Yay for another bundle of joy!

A romantic surprise!

So I finally got some more of my pictures off of my camera and on to the computer. And these are my Anniversary flowers from RUSH! He is such a sweet heart. They were in Somerset waiting for me when I got to my parent's house, the weekend we had my brother and sister-in-laws' baby shower. Pretty sure it made my mom slightly jealous. Anyways, aren't they just so pretty! I love, love, love my Hubby! :)

The Downhill Slide!

Well I'm not sure how many people actually follow this blog, but I felt just in case I should keep updating.

For those of you who don't know, we are on the downhill slide of this deployment! I see the light at the end of the tunnel and it is BEAUTIFUL! Our Advon (Advance Party: the guys who come home early to get ready for the Main Body) are home and hard at work. We don't have dates yet for many reasons: one being the uppers honestly don't know when they might be getting home, flights are not easy to secure in advance, and because of OPSEC. We want our guys to make it home safely so if I don't know until the day before he gets home, that's fine with me. I just want him home safe.

All I know is that he should be home sometime in November! Once he is home I am sure he will make some calls to family and friends. And over the Christmas holidays we are hoping to see everyone. Of course it will all depend on how much leave time we get, and we won't know that until we know when he is going to be home. :)

Finally a picture of Rush!

So I got an email from Rush, and there is (was) a NPR guy embedded with their unit for a little while and I found one fairly good picture of RUSH! Finally. Not seeing your husband for seven straight months is really weird (and difficult.) Anyways if you want to read up on the NPR guy's blog it is http://the-athenian.blogspot.com/ . I found Rush's picture from the October 19th post. Hope y'all are doing well, we are hoping to get a homecoming date soon!
